Why We're Choosing More Eco-Friendly Activewear — And Why It Matters

I’ll be honest: when I first started H&H Activewear, I was mostly focused on helping women (especially those of us 30 and up!) feel strong, supported, and comfortable in what they wear. I wanted our pieces to move with you—not dig in, roll down, or lose shape after one wash. But the more I learned about how activewear is made, the more I started thinking… can we do better for the planet too?

And the answer is yes—we absolutely can.

That’s why we’re slowly, but very consciously, adding more eco-friendly pieces to our collection.

Why We're Making the Switch

There’s a lot of waste in the fashion industry. I don’t say that to scare anyone—it’s just the truth. And while I can’t change the whole system, I can make better choices in how we source materials and design our clothes. That’s where our eco-friendly pieces come in.

We’re not perfect, and we’re not “fully sustainable” (whatever that means these days), but we are trying. Every product we add to our EcoPulse Collection is chosen with care—and made to last.

So, What Makes It Eco-Friendly?

Most of our sustainable items are made using recycled fabrics—especially recycled nylon and polyester. You might be surprised to hear this, but some of our leggings and sports bras actually start out as plastic bottles. They’re cleaned, broken down, and re-spun into soft, stretchy yarn that feels just like (or better than) traditional activewear.

And don’t worry—they’re still sweat-wicking, breathable, and squat-proof. Sustainability shouldn’t mean sacrificing comfort or quality.

Small Changes, Real Impact

I know switching to eco-friendly activewear won’t save the world on its own. But it does matter. Every little step—every better choice—adds up. I think of it like fitness: small, consistent actions lead to long-term change.
